School Liaison Officer

This program provides assistance to area school administrators and students with disruptive behavior and other problems. The liaison officer also provides security at sporting events, dances and other activities.

Safety Town

This is an annual program in June designed for children entering kindergarten each fall. Children learn about topics such as Stranger Danger, how to use 9-1-1, handgun safety, poisons and Mr. Yuk, bicycle skills and how to safely cross streets. Bike Rodeo

The first Saturday in June brings the annual Bike Rodeo, which is most popular with children under 12 years of age. Activities include bicycle registration, distribution of free bike helmets, safety inspections and supervised practice for safe operation using obstacle courses and other common "hazards."

Career Days

Officers regularly attend high school, technical college and university career days or fairs to promote law enforcement careers for men and women.

Crime Prevention

Officers can provide information to merchants, banks, residents, seniors and other groups on a wide range of crime prevention, security and personal safety topics. Call 262-342-1100 for more information or to schedule a presentation.

Tip Line

This program encourages the public to join the police and media in fighting crime by offering anonymity and cash rewards to persons who furnish information leading to the arrest and filing of criminal charges against offenders, the capture of criminal fugitives or the recovery of stolen property. It is sponsored by the Burlington Area Chamber of Commerce, in cooperation with the City of Burlington and Town of Burlington Police Departments.
