FIRST Installment Tax Payments


TOWN of Burlington:

Town residents must click here to pay taxes by Credit Card, or call the TOWN of Burlington at 262-763-3070. The City of Burlington does not accept Town of Burlington First Installment Tax Payments.

CITY of Burlington:

By Mail

You may send your first installment tax payment to City Hall at 300 N. Pine St., Burlington, WI 53105 until January 31. Your check should be made payable to City of Burlington Treasurer. If you would like a paid receipt, please be sure to include a self-addressed stamped envelope or your email address with your payment.

In Person at two Local Banks

For the convenience of our residents, First installment tax payments may also be made at Greenwood State Bank (767-8600), 241 E. Jefferson St., Burlington or BMO Harris Bank (763-9141), 1000 Milwaukee Avenue, through January 31st only. The bank accepts full payment or current first installment payments only. No other City services are available at the banks. Checks should be made payable to "City of Burlington Treasurer". Be sure to call the bank to verify hours of operation, or look at the flyer included with your tax bill.

Drop Box

You may place your payment in the payment drop box 24 hours a day at City Hall, 300 N. Pine Street. The payment drop box is located on the Jefferson Street side of City Hall.

Online

As part of our commitment to providing residents with efficient, convenient service, the City of Burlington has partnered with Payment Service Network (PSN) to offer payment of  First installment taxes (see below). MasterCard, American Express, Discover, debit cards and electronic checks are accepted. There is a nominal fee charged for this service by PSN. 

Note: If you wish to use your credit card to pay the second installment, arranged payments or delinquent tax payments of your real estate tax bill, you must go to the Racine County website. Click the third link below and enter "Racine County" as the jurisdiction.

Pay First Installment Real Estate Taxes by secured credit (A 3.00% convenience fee will be charged by PSN) or electronic check at Payment Service Network.

Pay CITY of Burlington First Installment Real Estate or Personal Property Taxes ONLY Here

  • Click the Quick Pay Icon then enter the following information:
    • Business Name: City of Burlington
    • Business City: Burlington
    • Business State: WI
  •  Click Search
  • In the first of the four payment types (TAXES), click the blue text link to the right under options – either Register (Save Information), or Make a Payment (Your information is not saved).
  • Please make sure you have your Parcel ID (without the prefix of 206) ready for the next input screen. It is located in the upper right of your tax bill or on any payment stub at the bottom. Do not enter the bill number.

Print a Real Estate Tax Receipt

Visit the Racine County Treasurer website at https://ascent.racinecounty.com/LandRecords/PropertyListing/RealEstateTaxParcel#/Search to begin your property search. Type in your information and click on “Find Now”. In next screen click on the Parcel ID Number. In the next screen select “Taxes” from the dropdown menu. In the next screen select “Printer Friendly” on the top right. 

Second Installment Tax Payments

Second Installment Cash or Check Payment - Any Racine County Municipality

If you wish to make second installment tax payments in person for any Racine County Municipality by check or cash, you may come to the Burlington City Hall (300 N Pine St.) and we will forward your payment to Racine County.  DO NOT MAKE CHECKS PAYABLE TO THE CITY OF BURLINGTON FOR SECOND INSTALLMENT REAL ESTATE TAX PAYMENTS. Doing so may delay your tax payment to Racine County. Checks for second installment payments should be made payable to the Racine County Treasurer.

Second Installment by Credit Card

Pay any Racine County Municipal second installment, delinquent or arranged tax payments by Credit Card including Second Installments with Racine County directly here, then Click the Local Payments link and select Racine County as the jurisdiction and Real Estate Tax as the payment type.

Property Tax Search

Visit the Racine County website to look up information on property taxes. Properties can be searched by parcel ID or street address. If you do not know the properties parcel ID or street address, please visit the GIS Mapping section. You can zoom into the map and select a parcel with the identify tool. That will give you the parcel number and the owner information.
