WHAT'S IN YOUR WATER?

Drink with Confidence! In the City of Burlington, we use four deep wells that deliver safe, quality water to our citizens and business customers.
To ensure that quality, City water is tested (both at the wells and throughout the distribution system) and treated with chlorine according to state and federal regulations. Each year the Burlington Water Utility issues a Drinking Water Quality Report, listing the levels of any substances detected, the sources of those substances, and any violations that may have occurred from them. In 2007 the City of Burlington had no violations that exceed the safe drinking water standards. A copy of this report is posted at the Library and at City Hall. It is also available on the City website or by calling the Water Utility office at 342-1173.

Kohls Department Store Update

The new Kohls Department Store is well on it's way to completion.  Within just a few short months the 68,900 square foot building that will house the department store rose quickly from the ground brick by brick.  The original projected opening date is still slotted for October 1, 2008.  In the weeks to come construction will cease and store stocking will commence in preparation for the Grand Opening.
