WHEREAS, the City of Burlington did post a Class 2 Notice to Bidders for the 2007 Street and Sidewalk Improvement Program on March 22 and March 29, 2007 and,

WHEREAS, bids received by the City were opened and reviewed at the Board of Public Works bid opening on April 12, 2007 and forwarded to the City Engineer for final review; and,

WHEREAS, the City Engineer, the Utility Manager and DPW Streets and Parks Supervisor have reviewed the bids and recommend acceptance of the lowest, most responsive bid from Wanasek Corporation, a copy of which is attached hereto, and made a part thereof; and,

WHEREAS, the City Engineer, the Utility Manager and DPW Streets and Parks Supervisor have recommended approval of the Base Bid and the following Alternate Bids, as listed below:

• Base Bid (Lewis St., Crest St., Market St. and Sidewalk Improvements) for $594,522.98.

• Alternate Bid #1 (Randolph St.) for $260,429.51.

• Alternate Bid #2 (New sidewalk on N. Pine/Origen St.) for $2,980.80.

• Alternate Bid #3B (Retaining wall repair at Lewis St. water tower-concrete surface repair, protective surface treatment and epoxy crack injection) for $21,330.00; and,

WHEREAS, funding for this project is included in the 2007 Annual Budget.

NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Common Council of the City of Burlington that the 2007 Street and Sidewalk Improvement Program bid be awarded to the Wanasek Corporation for the not-to-exceed amount of $594,522.98 for the Base Bid.

BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Common Council of the City of Burlington award the following Alternate Bid Projects to the Wanasek Corporation for the not-to-exceed amounts of:
