CITY OF BURLINGTON
RACINE COUNTY, WISCONSIN

Located in the southwest corner of Racine County, approximately 30 miles southwest of Milwaukee and 70 miles northwest of Chicago, Burlington sits in a tranquil pocket of rolling Wisconsin countryside where the Fox and White Rivers meet. Its approximately 11,000 residents take pride in the history, energy, friendliness and "small town" charm that are essential to the quality of life here. Four state highways, railroad access and excellent proximity to two Interstate highways also make Burlington the ideal place to relocate or start a business.

Topographic Maps

The distinctive characteristic of a topographic map is that the shape of the Earth's surface is shown by contour lines. Contours are imaginary lines that join points of equal elevation on the surface of the land above or below a reference surface such as mean sea level. Contours make it possible to measure the height of mountains, depths of the ocean bottom, and steepness of slopes.

The TopoZone website provides many controls for the display of the topographic map.
