MUNICIPAL COURT

The City provides the Citizens of Burlington with a Municipal Court of the highest ethical and professional standards. The Municipal Court tries and determines all cases arising under the City's Code of Ordinances, and under other orders, rules, or regulations of the City or it's Officials.

Municipal Court Proceedings

Proceedings are open to the public except in juvenile matters. Indigency hearings can be scheduled on request.

Parking tickets and citations can be paid at any time at the Police Department. If you have questions about a parking ticket, citation or appearance, please call the Municipal Court Clerk at 262-342-1129, Monday through Friday from 8:00 a.m. to noon and from 1:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m.

The Court is responsible for adjudication of all Municipal Code violations, which include Traffic, City Ordinance, and Alcohol Beverage Code matters.

The Court Clerk's office, located upstairs at City Hall, is open for business Monday through Friday from 8:00 a.m. to noon and from 1:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m.

The Court Clerk serves as the administrative arm of the Municipal Court. Administrative functions include courteous response to requests for information from the public, responsible collection of assessed fines and fees, and efficient docketing of cases for adjudication.
