COMMON COUNCIL
Two Alderpersons represent each aldermanic
district of the City. One Alderperson from each district is
elected at the regular spring election each year for a term of
two years. The City
Council exercises all legislative powers of the City; approves
the City's financial plan; sets the tax rate, utility rates and
other user fees and charges; sets policies, goals, and
objectives to direct the City's growth and development; and
adopts ordinances, rules, and regulations as necessary for the
general welfare of the community and its visitors. |
