Tom has been a self employed
Siding and Roofing Contractor since 1970. He
graduated from Burlington High School in 1965 and
went on to serve in the Army National Guard 2nd
Battalion of 128th Infantry Head Quarter Company
from 1966 to 1972. He left with the rank of
Sergeant. Tom's hobbies are stamp collecting,
fishing and golf when he has a chance.
Tom and his wife have two adult
children. Rob has been the owner of Troy Star
Package and RoJo Popcorn company since 1995.
Jackie is married to Mark Jordan and lives in Oak
Creek. Jackie works in accounting for Greade
Foundries in Milwaukee and Mark works for Pepsi
Company. Tom has two grandchildren, Collin and
Allison.
Tom was first elected to the City
Council in April 1981. During his tenure on
the Council he has served as Council President and
has chaired the Finance Committee and Buildings,
Water and Sanitation Committee. While Chairman
of the Buildings, Water and Sanitation Committee, he
over saw the construction of the new Wastewater
Treatment Plant. Tom has also been a member of
the Water Commission, Park Board and Street
Committee. He is currently a member of the
Burlington Planning Commission.
Tom's goals on the City Council
include:

To keep Burlington moving forward with good,
controlled, steady growth while maintaining our
service in all aspects at a fair and controlled
tax rate.

To keep working with County
and Town officials on issues of mutual interest.
Tom's commitment to the community
is reflected in his service activities. He is
a member of Saint Charles Catholic Church. He
served as a member of the Jaycees for ten years.
Tom was also a 17 year member of the Burlington Area
Rescue Squad and is a past Captain of the squad.
He has been a member of the Kiwanis service club
since 1995.
Over the years, Tom and his
company, Vos Home Improvement, Inc., have generously
donated labor and materials for such community projects
as the Echo Park Pavilion, restrooms at the Maryland
Street ball diamond, press box at the the Karcher
School athletic field, Love Inc's TLC home and
Love's Pine Street homeless shelter. He has
committed to helping with the new storage and
concession facility at Baumont Field, siding and
roofing a large garage for Kiwanas at the Maryland
Street diamond, and helping with the Rescue Squad
building on the Chocolate Fest grounds.
In addition, Tom helps support American Legion Baseball and
Love, Inc. Tom is always ready to lend a hand
and he looks forward to helping in the future.
