Tom has been a self employed Siding and Roofing Contractor since 1970.  He graduated from Burlington High School in 1965 and went on to serve in the Army National Guard 2nd Battalion of 128th Infantry Head Quarter Company from 1966 to 1972. He left with the rank of Sergeant.  Tom's hobbies are stamp collecting, fishing and golf when he has a chance.

Tom and his wife have two adult children.  Rob has been the owner of Troy Star Package and RoJo Popcorn company since 1995.  Jackie is married to Mark Jordan and lives in Oak Creek.  Jackie works in accounting for Greade Foundries in Milwaukee and Mark works for Pepsi Company.  Tom has two grandchildren, Collin and Allison.

Tom was first elected to the City Council in April 1981.  During his tenure on the Council he has served as Council President and has chaired the Finance Committee and Buildings, Water and Sanitation Committee.  While Chairman of the Buildings, Water and Sanitation Committee, he over saw the construction of the new Wastewater Treatment Plant.  Tom has also been a member of the Water Commission, Park Board and Street Committee.  He is currently a member of the Burlington Planning Commission.

Tom's goals on the City Council include:

  • To keep Burlington moving forward with good, controlled, steady growth while maintaining our service in all aspects at a fair and controlled tax rate.

  • To keep working with County and Town officials on issues of mutual interest.

Tom's commitment to the community is reflected in his service activities.  He is a member of Saint Charles Catholic Church.  He served as a member of the Jaycees for ten years.  Tom was also a 17 year member of the Burlington Area Rescue Squad and is a past Captain of the squad.  He has been a member of the Kiwanis service club since 1995.

Over the years, Tom and his company, Vos Home Improvement, Inc., have generously donated labor and materials for such community projects as the Echo Park Pavilion, restrooms at the Maryland Street ball diamond, press box at the the Karcher School athletic field, Love Inc's TLC home and Love's Pine Street homeless shelter.  He has committed to helping with the new storage and concession facility at Baumont Field, siding and roofing a large garage for Kiwanas at the Maryland Street diamond, and helping with the Rescue Squad building on the Chocolate Fest grounds.

In addition, Tom helps support American Legion Baseball and Love, Inc.  Tom is always ready to lend a hand and he looks forward to helping in the future.
