2007 PROPERTY TAX LEVY CHARTS

This year due to the late adoption of the State budget and the decrease of $1 million in funding, the Burlington Area School District was forced to raise their tax levy by $1 million.  In 2006, the School District’s portion of the mil rate was $8.29 and this year their mil rate is $9.24 (an 11.5% increase).  The City’s portion of the mil rate was $7.00 in 2006 and has increased by 7.42% to $7.52 in 2007.

The overall mil rate was $18.96 in 2006 and has increased by 8.33% to $20.54 in 2007.

The City was reassessed in 2006 up to 100% and was assessed at 94.70% in 2007.
