POLICE AND FIRE COMMISSION

Burlington Fire Station

November 7, 2007

The meeting was called to order at 7:32 A.M. by President Thomas Pringle.

Commissioners present were John Hotvedt, Ron Patla and Patricia Spiegelhoff. Norris (Jack) Berry was excused. Also present were Police Chief Scot Eisenhauer and Fire Chief Richard Lodle.

Public comments: none.

Motion made by Commissioner Patla, seconded by Commissioner Hotvedt to approve minutes of Oct. 3, 2007. Motion carried unanimously.

Police Chief Eisenhauer presented an update of cadets. They're standing at above average and continuing education as expected with good standing in their classes.

Number of good candidates have applied for police officer position. The final selection for interviews will be selected and the PFC will interview those candidates in Dec. 2007.

Police Chief Eisenhauer presented a letter of commendation for the officers on a recent assignment, Nov. 2, 2007, noting their excellent performance in a difficult assignment. The letter will be filed in their portfolio.

Nov. 10, 2007 a Safety Fair with community participation will be held at Burlington High School as organized by the police officers.

Motion to move into closed session by Commissioner Hotvedt at 7:44 per authority of SS 19.85 (1) Wis. State statutes for review of applications for Burlington Fire Dept. Seconded by Commissioner Patla. Motion to move out of closed session at 8:35 A.M. by Commissioner Hotvedt, seconded by Commissioner Patla. Motion carried unanimously.

Commissioner Hotvedt made a motion to interview applicants as presented for Volunteer Fire Dept. It was seconded by Commissioner Patla. Motion carried unanimously. A meeting scheduled for Nov. 15'h at 6:30 p.m. to interview applicants.

Motion made at 8:45 A.M. by Commissioner Hotvedt and seconded by Commissioner Patla to adjourn. Motion carried unanimously. Meeting adjourned.
