The meeting was called to order at 6:33 p.m. by President Thomas Pringle. Commissioners present were Patricia Spiegelhoff, James Stobber, Norris (Jack) Berry, and John Hotvedt. Also present were Fire Chief Dick Lodle, and Police Chief David Welsh. Guests present were Assistant Chief Scott Eisenhauer and Sergeant David Krupp.

Motion to approve the minutes of the March 1,2006 meeting by Commissioner Berry, seconded by Commissioner Stobber. Motion carried unanimously.

Police Chief Welsh asked to go into closed session pursuant to Wisconsin State Statute 19.85(1)(c) to consider performance evaluations of police officers. Motion made by Commissioner Stobber, seconded by Commissioner Berry to go into closed at 6:37 p.m. Motion carried unanimously. Motion to move out of closed session at 6:51 p.m. by Commissioner Stobber, seconded by Commissioner Spiegelhoff. Motion carried unanimously. After Sergeant Krupp spoke to the Commission on his duties as an officer a motion was made to appoint Daniel Hayes to permanent Police Officer by Commissioner Hotvedt, seconded by Commissioner Stobber. Motion carried unanimously. Motion made to appoint Sergeant Krupp to permanent Sergeant was made by Commissioner Berry, seconded Commissioner Hotvedt. Motion passed unanimously. Motion made by Commissioner Stobber, seconded by Commissioner Hotvedt to Police Chief Welsh to begin to search for a police officer to fill a vacancy. Motion passed unanimously.

Fire Chief Lodle asked to go into closed session pursuant to Wisconsin State Statute 19.85(1)(c)to consider personnel issues. Motion by Commissioner Spiegelhoff, seconded by Commissioner Berry, to go into closed session at 7:02 p.m. Motion carried unanimously. Motion to move out of closed session at 7:35 p.m. by Commissioner Stobber, seconded Berry. Motion passed unanimously. Commissioner Stobber moved that 1^st. applicant be interviewed at June meeting. Seconded by Commissioner Spiegelhoff. Motion passed unanimously. Stobber moved that 2^nd applicant be tabled until further review. Seconded by Berry. Motion carried unanimously.

Welcomed John Hotvedt as a new member to the Police and Fire Commission A thank you letter has been sent to David Kaiser.

* Letter of retirement from firefighter William (Tiny) Milatz was accepted. Thank you Tiny for your years of volunteer services.

Motion at 7:40 p.m. by Commissioner Pringle, seconded by Commissioner Stobber to adjourn. Motion carried unanimously.
