The meeting was called to order at 6:30 p.m. by President Thomas Pringle. Commissioners present were Patricia Spiegelhoff, James Stobber, Norris (Jack) Berry and David Kaiser. Also present were Police Chief David Walsh and Fire Chief Richard Lodle.

Motion to approve the minutes of the August 4, 2004 meeting by Commissioner Berry, seconded by Commissioner Spiegelhoff. Motion carried unanimously.

Fire Chief Lodle's Report: Motion to close session, pursuant to Section 19.85(1)(c), Stats, at 6:32 p.m. by Commissioner Kaiser, seconded by Commissioner Stobber, to consider recommendation to grant probationary firefighter permanent member status. Motion carried unanimously. Motion out of closed session at 6:35 p.m. by Commissioner Kaiser, seconded by Commissioner Spiegelhoff. Motion carried unanimously.

Motion to grant permanent member status to probationary firefighter Eric Jones effective September 1, 2004 by Commissioner Stobber, seconded by Commissioner Spiegelhoff. Motion carried unanimously.

Police ChiefWalsh's Report: Motion at 6:38 p.m., pursuant to Section 19.85(1)(c), Stats, to move into closed session to interview candidates for probationary police officer by Commissioner Stobber, seconded by Commissioner Berry. Motion carried unanimously. Motion out of closed session at 7:30 p.m. by Commissioner Kaiser, seconded by Commissioner Berry. Motion carried unanimously.

Motion by Commissioner Berry, seconded by Commissioner Spiegelhoff, authorizing Chief Walsh to make a conditional offer of employment as a probationary patrol officer to candidate Dan Hayes, conditioned upon his passing background, physical and psychological tests. Motion carried unanimously.

Motion by Commissioner Berry, seconded by Commissioner Spiegelhoff, authorizing Chief Walsh to make a conditional offer of employment as a probationary patrol officer to candidate Michelle Cannon, conditioned upon her passing background, physical and psychological tests. Motion carried unanimously.

Motion to adjourn at 7:30 p.m. by President Pringle, seconded by Commissioner Kaiser. Motion carried unanimously.
