POLICE
AND FIRE COMMISSION
MINUTES FROM
JUNE 4, 2003 MEETING
The meeting was called to order at 6:30 p.m. by
President Thomas Pringle. Commissioners
present were Patricia Spiegelhoff, James Stobber, David
Kaiser, Norris (Jack) Berry and Thomas Pringle. Also
present were Police Chief David J. Walsh and Fire Chief
Richard Lodle.
Motion to approve the minutes as printed of the April
4, 2003 special meeting by Commissioner Kaiser, seconded
by Commissioner Stobber. Motion carried unanimously.
Reoort from Fire Chief:
Nothing to report apart from the decision to
interview a potential fire fighter candidate at the next
meeting.
Reoort from Police Chief:
The Commission welcomed the new chief to his first
meeting of the Commission. The Chief reported that he
has met individually with all members of the police
force.
Motion at 6:37 p.m. by Commissioner Kaiser, seconded
by Commissioner Berry, pursuant to ss. 19.85(1)(c),
Stats., to move into closed session to discuss
performance evaluations of police officers, including
probationary officer performance. Motion carried
unanimously.
Motion at 6:42 p.m. by Commissioner Stobber, seconded
by Commissioner Spiegelhoff, to move out of closed
session. Motion carried unanimously.
Police and Fire Commission Business:
Election of Officers. Motion by Commissioner
Spiegelhoff, seconded by Commissioner Kaiser, that
Thomas Pringle be nominated as Commission President.
Motion by Commissioner Berry, seconded by Commissioner
Stobber, that the secretary be directed to cast a
unanimous ballot and the nominations be closed. Motion
carried unanimously. Motion by President Pringle,
seconded by Commissioner Stobber, that David Kaiser be
nominated as Commission Secretary. Motion by
Commissioner Berry, seconded by Commissioner Stobber,
that the secretary be directed to cast a unanimous
ballot for Commissioner Kaiser and that the nominations
be closed. Motion carried unanimously.
Motion to adjourn at 6:45 p.m. by President Pringle,
seconded by Commissioner Kaiser. Motion carried
unanimously.
