Relocation of Echo Pavilion - Update

Alderman Bob Prailes reported he had received a quotation for preliminary costs to construct a 50 X 100 pavilion in Echo Park with concrete pillars and pad would be $64,000.00.The Commissioners discussed the possibility of reducing size or possibly connecting two buildings to contain costs.

Alderman Prailes will contact Tom Stelling for ideas. All Commissioners were in agreement that the final building should be one that is aesthetically pleasing for Echo Park. Where the dollars would come from to construct the pavilion also need to be determined.

Relocation of City Dog Park:

Holly Prailes Humphrey was present to report a profit of $1103.41, from the Pet Fair held on April 12, 2008. A copy of the Pet Fair Ledger attached to Minutes.

Other Items

Chris Peschek from the Jaycees was present regarding the pavilion at Echo Park. She stated it would be too expensive to rent tents for their fund raisers and that cost they obtained for rental of a 40 X 100 tent would be $1700.00 to $1900.00. The cost of rental would take away from the profits that the Jaycee's make.

Ms. Peschek stated this could possibly be the Jaycees last year due to the cost of having to rent a tent. Approval to use their old tents would be needed from the Fire Inspector. Alderman Prailes would speak with the Fire Inspector to see if anything could be done.

Larry Gobel, DPW Supervisor stated he would speak to the Chocolate Fest Committee to see if possibly a tent could be rented at a discount price through the same company that Chocolate Fest would be using.

There being no further items for discussion, Chairman Eisenhardt entertained a motion for adjournment. Motion to adjourn made by Commissioner Kane-Terhorst. Seconded by Alderman Prailes. All voted aye and Chairman Eisenhardt adjourned the meeting at 7:35 P.M.
