COMMUNICATION AND PUBLIC COMMENT: None
ALDERMANIC REPORT (Presented by Peter Hintz):
Additional paving will be done at the Bushnell Park
ball diamond to accommodate more bleachers.
SUPERVISOR REPORT (Larry Gobel):
Although absent from the meeting, Mr. Gobel submitted
a written update which was presented by Mr. Milatz.
The roof repair at Echo pavilion will be done this
Spring. If the weather cooperates, the repairs should be
completed prior to May 1.
The Beaumont field restroom renovation of sinks and
toilets is progressing.
The repaving of the Devor Park parking lot will be
included in the city’s 2004 street repaving bid. This
will enable us to take advantage of better pricing.
The ice rink at Devor Park as well as the snow
cleared area on Echo Lake have received good use this
year.
Repairs to picnic tables, trash barrels, and grills
have been taking place in anticipation of the Spring
park openings.
Plans are in place to aerate and fertilize the area
ball diamonds as soon as the weather permits.
OLD BUSINESS
The dugouts at Beaumont Field should be completed
prior to the start of the baseball season.
The new concession stand will follow pending
necessary architectural approvals.
USER FEES: Mr. Gobel provided a break down of
field costs, as well as a copy of the Racine County
Public Works Park User Fee Schedule for 2004 for review.
Following review and discussion a motion was made by Mr.
Eisenhardt that, "A user fee of $10 per game for field
preparation, or $15 per game if lights were required for
adult leagues" was made. There was no second, so the
motion died.
A motion was then made by Mr. Hintz, "To charge $25
per night per field to adult recreation softball leagues
for the use of Bushnell and Congress Street ball
diamonds." The motion was seconded by Mr. Kline. A roll
call vote was held and the motion carried by a vote of 5
in favor, 1 against.
NEW BUSINESS
On March 11 there will be a baseball "kick-off"
meeting to confirm field usage and scheduling.
The Burlington Area Arts Council will be holding the
Burlington Cookie and Culture Festival on October 2nd
and 3rd at Library Park. This is in
conjunction with the film festival being held at the
Plaza Theater. A representative will be invited to a
future Board meeting to provide additional details.
Motion to Adjourn: Hintz; seconded by Strong.
Meeting Adjourned: 8:20 p.m.
Respectfully submitted,
Kent Strong
