The meeting was called to order by Mayor Claude Lois at 5:30 p.m. with the following in attendance: Aldermen John Thate, Robert Prailes, Robert Miller, Peter Girolamo, Tom Vos and Steve Rauch, Interim Administrator Mark Morien and Dave Wagner of Ehlers and Associates. Alderman Katie Simenson and Alderman Kent Strong were excused.

A motion was made by Alderman Prailes and seconded by Alderman Miller to approve Motion 07-561 to authorize the city staff together with Ehlers and Associates, inc., to solicit quotes from the approved designated Public Depositories list for $1,500,000 General Obligation Promissory Notes for consideration at the meeting of the Common Council on August 21, 2007. On a roll call vote all were in favor and the motion carried.

A motion was made by Alderman Prailes and seconded by Alderman Vos to approve Motion 07-562 authorizing the city staff together with Ehlers and Associates, Inc., to negotiate with the best bidder for the city’s last competitive bond sale, Robert W. Baird and Company, Inc., for the sale of $1,500,000 General Obligation Refund Bonds for consideration at the meeting of the Common Council on September 4, 2007. On a roll call vote all were in favor and the motion carried.

The council then asked Mr. Morien to provide a report on how this matter happened, the associated costs for the city and how it can be prevented in the future.

A motion was made by Alderman Miller to adjourn the meeting. Alderman Rauch seconded the motion and with all in favor the motion carried and the meeting adjourned at 5:35 p.m.
