On this Tuesday evening, Mayor Lois called the Special Council meeting to order at 5:30 p.m. starting with roll call. Roll Call: Robert Miller, Thomas Vos, John Ekes, Peter Girolamo, Kent Strong and John Thate. Alderman Joel Jacobsen was excused. Also present were: Administrator David Torgler, Department of Public Works Utility Manager Connie Wilson, Department of Public Works Utilities Supervisor Dick Pieters, City Engineer Tom Foht of Kapur and Associates, Inc. and City Attorney Thomas Kircher.

93. A resolution approving the award of the 2007 Street and Sidewalk Improvement Program to Wanasek Corporation for the not-to-exceed amount of $594,522.98 for the base bid and for the alternate bids.

Alderman Girolamo voiced his concern regarding the high amount of this bid. He stated that at previous meetings a much lower amount was discussed. Mayor Lois explained that bids for all of the projects came in a great deal lower than estimated.

Alderman Vos requested a second reading of Resolution No. 93, A resolution approving the award of the 2007 Street and Sidewalk Improvement Program to Wanasek Corporation for the not-to-exceed amount of $594,522.98 for the base bid and for the alternate bids. Alderman Vos moved and Alderman Ekes seconded to adopt Resolution No. 93. Roll Call: Ayes: Strong, Ekes, Miller, Vos and Thate. Nays: Girolamo. The majority was in favor and the motion carried.

Alderman Ekes moved and Alderman Thate seconded to adjourn the meeting at 5:37 p.m. All were in favor and the motion carried.
