The meeting of the Community Development Authority
was called to order by Chairman Jack Eckola at 6:30 p.m.
with the following in attendance: Jack Eckola, Mayor
Claude Lois, Alderman Bob Miller, Lynn Gruenke, Bill
Scherrer and Jim Spiegelhoff. Ken Jaeger was excused.
Also in attendance were David Torgler, Jenny Trick and
Bev Gill.
MINUTES

minutes of July 5 and July 20, 2001 were approved. All
were in favor and motion carried.
OLD BUSINESS
None
NEW BUSINESS
A discussion was held on the WEPCO overhead lines
that are to be relocated. The area in question is along
Chestnut Street beginning at the Fox River to Dodge
Street. The lines on the six utility poles would be
moved to existing poles on Milwaukee Avenue. The removal
of these lines will give the area a much cleaner,
appealing look. This project would be completed by the
end of October and WEPCO will be removing the poles. On
a motion by Lois and a second by Spiegelhoff the CDA
approved the WEPCO overhead lines proposal. On a roll
call vote all were in favor and the motion carried.
CLOSED SESSION
At 6:36 p.m. Scherrer made a motion to adjourn into
executive session that was closed per Wi Stats
19.85(1)(e) deliberating or negotiating the purchase of
public properties, the investing of public funds, or
conducting other specified public business, whenever
competitive or bargaining reasons require a closed
session. Miller seconded the motion and on a roll call
vote the motion carried.
At 6:53 p.m. the CDA reconvened into open session.
On a motion by Lois seconded by Greunke the CDA
approved an agreement with WEPCO contingent upon staff
researching the easement in question that is noted on
paragraph 20 of the agreement. On a roll call vote all
were in favor and motion carried.
Scherrer motioned to approve Resolution No. 51
approving the sale and purchase of property located at
132-140 South Calumet Street. Lois seconded the motion
and on a roll call vote all were in favor and the motion
carried.
The next CDA meeting will be held on October 4, 2001
at 6:30 p.m. Bil Scherrer announced that he would be out
of town for that meeting.
Miller made a motion to adjourn, Gruenke seconded and
all were in favor and motion carried. The meeting was
adjourned at 6:55 p.m.
Respectfully submitted,
Beverly R. Gill
