COMMITTEE MEETING
Burlington Municipal Airport Terminal Building

Thursday,
October 27, 2005 at 6:00 p.m.
Acting Chair Gary Meisner called the meeting to order
at 6:00 p.m.
Present were: John Ekes; Bob Kawalec; Gary Meisner;
Arlene Runkel; Mitch Januszewski and Harry Putz
Excused: Jerry DeLay
Guest: Mark Swatek
Meisner moved, Kawalec provided a second, that: the
minutes of the September 22, 2005 Airport Committee be
approved as presented. Motion Carried.
Citizen Comments: Requested that the airport give
some attention to grade issues on Bravo Taxiway for
aircraft with low wing design.
Runway and Taxiway – Repairs and Maintenance:
Repairs to the runway will require a one day to one
and a half day shutdown. Funding for this project is in
the budget.
Meisner moved, Kawalec provided a second, to accept a
bid for saw cutting and filling in lieu of simple crack
filling from Amon and Sons for ten thousand dollars.
Roll Call Vote: Ekes, yes; Januszewski, yes; Kawalec,
yes; Meisner, yes; Runkel, yes and Putz, yes. Motion
Carried.
Winter Snow Removal:
Kawalec moved, Ekes provided a second, that: the
airport will utilize the services of Wanasek
Construction for snow plowing at a rate of one hundred
dollars per hour under the guidance and direction of the
airport manager. Roll Call Vote: Putz, yes; Runkel, yes;
Meisner, yes; Kawalec, yes; Januszewski, yes and Ekes,
yes. Motion Carried.
Airport Manager’s Report
Meisner reported that the State has accepted our
petition for requested airport improvements. Meisner
further stated that a letter will be sent to all hanger
owners restating acceptable hangar use guidelines.
Other Matters:
Meisner reported that Mr. Atwell has provided a check
to cover necessary costs associated with hanger
construction on a new site. Meisner moved, Januszewski
seconded that: an addendum allowing Skip Atwell to
proceed with construction be added to his current lease.
Roll Call Vote: Januszewski, yes; Ekes, yes; Kawalec,
yes; Meisner, yes; Runkel, yes and Putz, yes. Motion
Carried.
The November meeting of the airport committee will be
canceled and rescheduled in December 2005.
There being no further business, on a motion by
Meisner and a second by Ekes, the committee meeting was
adjourned on a roll call vote at 6:37 p.m.

Carried.
