CITY OF BURLINGTON
AIRPORT
COMMITTEE MEETING
Burlington Municipal Airport Terminal Building
Burlington, Wisconsin
Thursday, March
24, 2005 at 6:00 p.m.
Chairman Januszewski called the meeting to order at
6:04 p.m.
Present were: Jerry DeLay, Mitch Januszewski, Bob
Kawalec, Arlene Runkel and Harry Putz.
Excused: John Ekes and Gary Meisner
Guests: Bill Shepard
DeLay moved, Runkel provided a second, that the
minutes of the February 24, 2005 Airport Committee be
approved as amended. (Typo) Motion Carried.
Audience Comments: Bill Shepard shared his ideas and
concerns regarding the airport. He would like to see an
answering machine installed at the airport which would
allow individual with ideas or issues to have a more
immediate communication with airport officials.
Miscellaneous Project Status Update: Runkel provided
terminal building signage designs from Rochester Sign
Company for the committee’s review.
DeLay moved, Kawalec provided a second, that the city
purchase two signs, approximately 2 foot by 10 foot at a
cost not to exceed seven hundred dollars from Rochester
Sign. Roll Call Vote: Putz, yes; DeLay, yes; Januszewski,
yes; Runkel, yes and Kawalec, yes. Motion Carried.
Runkel provided a design for signage that would
display fuel pricing.
Kawalec moved, DeLay provided a second, that the city
be requested to purchase a fuel pricing sign not to
exceed four hundred dollars. Roll Call Vote: Kawalec,
yes; Putz, yes; DeLay, yes; Januszewski, yes and Runkel,
yes. Motion Carried.
The committee did not go into closed session. This
will be rescheduled for our April, 2005 meeting.
Januszewski moved, Kawalec provided a second, that a
new lease be issued to Deane Steinbacher. Motion
Carried.
There being no further business, on a motion by
Runkel and a second by DeLay, the committee meeting was
adjourned on a roll call vote at 6:50 p.m. Roll Call
Vote: DeLay, yes; Januszewski, yes; Kawalec, yes;
Runkel, yes and Putz, yes. Motion Carried.
