CITY OF BURLINGTON
AIRPORT
COMMITTEE MEETING
Burlington Municipal Airport Terminal Building
Burlington, Wisconsin
January 27, 2005 at 6:00 p.m.
Chairman Januszewski called the meeting to order at
6:00 p.m.
Present were:
Mitch Januszewski, Harry Putz, Gary Meisner, John Ekes,
and Arlene Runkel
Excused:
Jerry DeLay
Absent: Bob
Kawalec
Guests: none
Meisner moved, Runkel provided a second, that the
minutes of the October 28, 2004 Airport Committee be
approved as presented. Motion Carried.
Meisner reported on the Self-Serve Fuel Project.
Signage for the terminal and gas price are being
explored with BurliSigns and/or others. Gas sales were
down somewhat during our winter season.
Meisner reported that our name is on the list for
future airport security funding.
In his Airport Manager’s Report, Meisner stated that
he would discuss snow-plowing issues with the street
department. It is hoped that if nothing else, runways
and the taxiway by the terminal could receive earlier
attention. The airport received one noise complaint
since our last meeting in October. It was dealt with.
Our tie-down lease is being updated and will be
resubmitted to city council as an addendum upon our
review at the next meeting.
Meisner will address planning commission on February
8, 2005 at 6:30 p.m. with our 5-year plan. Stress will
be placed upon the best way to take advantage of
available funding.
There being no further business, on a motion by
Meisner and a second by Ekes, the committee meeting was
adjourned on a roll call vote at 6:40 p.m. Roll Call
Vote: Putz, yes; Runkel, yes; Januszewski, yes; Meisner,
yes and Ekes, yes. Motion Carried.
