4. Topic: Discussion
of renaming Commerce Street to Pine Street. |
Presenter: David Walsh |
|
Purpose: Staff members researched the issues
surrounding re-naming Commerce Street to Pine
Street. The actual financial cost to the
city would be relatively minor (mostly just
purchasing new street signs and paying for staff
time to make the necessary recording changes and
community notifications), but the change
deviates from the City’s policy regarding how
streets are numbered. This numbering
change would be inconsistent with how the City
has proceeded with other development.
Staff requests direction from the Council on how
they would like to proceed. |
|
5.Topic: Motion 06-506
request to hold the annual Christmas Parade. |
Presenter: Claude Lois |
|
Purpose: The Chamber
proposes to hold the annual Christmas parade on
the usual first Friday in December, stepping off
at 6:30 p.m. The Chamber invites the Mayor and
Council to participate in the parade as well as
light the City’s Christmas tree in Wehmoff
Square. Per direction from the Council this item
is placed on tonight’s Council agenda for
consideration. |
